TCR Series (charge/reverse charge) are designed for tackless plate formation, also called dry-charge formation. The formation process starts with reverse current. After a freely programmable period (typically limited by time or Ah) the polarity will change. Now the charged energy is discharged with the TCR's 6-pulse-SCR-bridge and is fed back to the AC power line. After a while the voltage is crossing the zero zone and will charge the plates with the right polarity.
TCRs are equipped with lamps on the front panel to indicate the polarity. Galvanic isolation and input voltage adaptation is made by the main transformer. The rectifiers are controlled by a microcontroller and the Battery Manager formation software.
Battery Manager is a database-oriented software for controlling and administrating battery-related processes in battery formation or laboratories as well as for battery production planning and supervising. Options, such as temperature input channels, data logger, digital inputs/outputs, etc. allow numerous customized solutions.
Due to the special requirements of tackless formation, the TCR Series are developed accordingly to allow an optimized dry-charge formation process.
