UBT grading circuits with output voltages of up to 170V and 20A per circuit, allow grading of 80 cells per string. 4 circuits are built in a 19'' cabinet.
The aircooled transistor based power modules provide the discharge current as well as the required low charging current at almost no ripple.
An unlimited number of grading schedules can be stored on the supervising PC. According to the cell type, schedules are downloaded to the circuits by simple drag and drop mouse clicks. In combination with the charging/discharging ciruits a drop-out system is used to achieve an automated grading process. When discharging cells, individual cell voltages are monitored and cells are dropped out when reaching the final discharge voltage. Thus capacities of each individual cell are available and stored in the database. A sorting machine uses the database information to group cells showing same capacities. Only cells with same capacities are used for battery packs.
UBT grading systems are available for all types of NiCD and NiMH cells. A drop-out system and a sorting machine complete the installation to achieve an automated cycling and grading process.
