The Multiple Cell Formation and Testing System MCFT is designed for formation, grading and production lot testing of Lithium cells. Together with cell fixtures and operator PC the MCFT can be supplied as a turn-key system for Lithium polymere or Lithium ion cells.
To set up a high volume formation system several 256 channel modules are combined in 19" cabinets and connected to one PC. Paralleling of circuits is possible as well as grouping of circuits which makes the MCFT system suitable for a variety of different applications. The operational safety, reliability and accuracy are ensured by a power-failure-management, hardware watch-dog, automatic self-test and automatic calibration. In addition the contact pins and the DC bus bar power supply are checked respectively controlled permanently.
Formation process and the actual status of the cabinets, trays and individual cells are clearly displayed on the monitor. The measured values for each cell are available in tabular format at the end of the formation process.
The MCFT system is mainly used for formation and grading of lithium cells. But it can also be used for all other types of cells such as NiMH or NiCd.
